   The first AquaCare Skin & Hair Shower Filter was stuck. I couldnt turn the threaded base to screw it to the shower pipe. They were quick in sending me the replacement, which worked fine. Installing was quick and simple. And it worked without any leakage. But here is where i was pleasantly surprised: It did not reduce the water pressure noticeably. That was my main worry so was happily satisfied with the results.
   Whether the water quality was improved for my hair and skin – I cannot tell. I’m a guy.
   But what I can say is that we seem to have less staining in the bathtub.

   Easy install and good quality filter. I haven’t noticed much of a difference in terms of water quality but my hair does feel less brittle. I moved from the city to the suburbs and the water is much harder here. My skin feels better but not sure if that is due to a new moisturizing body wash. This is easy to turn on and off as well. It did not affect water pressure which was one of my concerns. With all these water filters the main issue is replacing the cartridge. It looks easy on paper but I wonder if there will always be availability.

   It works, and somehow the finish is okay. Due to the mold, some of the threads on one side are almost flat, giving a path for water to come out. The other size, the female connector, is oversized and has too long of threads. Normally, people would have a pipe, and it wouldn’t be a problem. But in my case, I have a valve to control the pressure and save some water, and that oversized end will hit that and won’t thread all the way down, so it will leak. I will either remove the valve or add a second rubber seal inside to check if that helps. Besides that, it works, and I like that you can bypass the filter whenever you want. Hopefully, in a couple of months, they still exist, and I can get a replacement filter.

   This shower filter comes with a built-in diverter to bypass the filter when not needed. It’s advertised as the first of its kind. While I can’t mirror that statement to the reader as a fact, it sure was a first for me. The bundle includes a small roll of teflon tape that can be wrapped around the threads of the fittings to ensure a leak-proof connection. Installing was done in a flash, maybe a couple of minutes from start to finish. The water pressure is nice with the filter on but we’re talking about a brand new filter. I’ve had shower filters that started to clog up after only a few days which leads to my only gripe about this filter. The filter has grooves that fit onto slots within the filter housing, allowing it to be installed from that one side only. While this can be argued as being more user-friendly so that it gets installed in the correct orientation, it nonetheless eliminates the opportunity to backwash the filter as needed. And that severely restricts the lifespan of the filter. Further, the user is more or less forced to buy the manufacturer’s proprietary filters moving forward. The upkeep costs associated with using this shower filter should add up quite fast compared to comparable products in the marketplace. To close, it’s a great shower filter assembly which incorporates a bypass valve. But the lifespan of the filter does seem quite limited with all of the cons associated with being tied down into a proprietary ecosystem.

   This product is amazing! It does a great job of filtering out sediment from my shower head. A definite must have!
